Class A Assessment
The Board of Directors of the Oregon Association has authorized and called a Class A Assessment on all members; this assessment will be billed in late September-October 2017.
Class B Assessment
The Board has also authorized a Class B assessment for the health/disability account for the Penn Treaty Network America Insurance Company insolvency in the amount of the Association’s full discounted liability, to be determined after premium rate increases have been applied, and the portion called is $4,410,000.
Penn Treaty Network America Insurance Company: $4,410,000
This assessment will be based on the member companies 2014-2015-2016 average assessable premium, and will be billed in late September-October, 2017. If your company does not write health/disability insurance in Oregon, you will not be billed for this assessment. We will not bill companies whose total assessment amount due is less than $10.00, so if your company only writes a very small amount of health/disability in Oregon and the assessment calculation for your company is less than $10.00, your company will not be billed.
Please note, it is the intent of the Board to bill the majority of its Penn Treaty obligation over the next few years, so we expect to call a portion of the total estimated cost in each of the next 4-5 years.
